Personal Coaching and its Corollary Life Coaching

One of the newest methods of helping others get what they want from their lives and their work is the field of Personal or Life coaching.  While much of what is involved in Coaching is far from new, the field has become extremely creative and attracted a remarkable group of people of exceptional ability.

Coaching is used to improve life, work, social relationships, spirituality and much more.  Coaching will help you improve, develop, learn, gain personal success, attain your goals and become what you have always wanted to be.

There are large differences between Life coaching, personal coaching and similar coaching from counseling, therapy or other mental health issues.  Coaching works on where the client wants to go and grow.  It draws out the future rather than fixing the past.  It is about what can be done rather than what is wrong, or done wrong.   Coaching draws out what the client wants or dreams of and is engaged in seeking.  Coach develops rather than corrects, operating as a facilitation rather than training, it is proactive and adaptable allowing for personal differences.  Coaching is not judgmental, prescriptive or teaching

Two elements operate into coaching: intuition and empathy. Intuition hears beyond the words, hearing what is said and what is not.  Empathy is totally supportive and moves the client the way the client wishes to be moved.  Coaching works at being non-assumptive, seeking to enable the other persons understanding of himself or herself.  In general the coaches opinions, assumptions, needs are irrelevant.  The aim of good coaching to get the client to understand themselves, discover where they want to be and helping them get there.
