What is a Personal Coach?
A life coach (personal coach) is someone who focuses on supporting other people, being professionally trained in language, practice, competencies and distinctions.
A competent coach is as necessary for a business as a coach is for a sports team. There is a difference between life coaching and counseling. The essential differences are that the practice of counseling is designed to revisit the past and in re-patterning thinking.
Counselors are in the business of recovery from events in the past, whereas, a coach is more interested in changing the present in order to create the desired future. Coaches move their clients in the direction of accomplishment, rather than fixing the past.
People hire a coach because they want more of something (money, time, happiness, success, freedom) or less of something (frustration, toleration,delays).
A coach is trained to work with a client on both personal and business goals, while a therapist works on issues. There's a difference.
