My Passion, Prayer and Commitment to fulfill the Harvest, by intentionally multiplying laborers. —Matthew 9:37,38; 28:19,20; Acts 26:18
|
My Commitment:
Believing that God has called me to the task of helping to fulfill the great commission and to praying that He, the Lord of the harvest, would send forth laborers. I am intentionally giving myself to praying, reaching, training, and equipping individuals for world wide ministry
for the glory of God almighty.
—Charles W. Powell
My Mission Statement:
"As you go, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." —Matthew 28:19, 20 ESV
My Vision Statement:
"So everywhere we go, we tell everyone about Christ. We warn them and teach them with all the wisdom God has given us, for we want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. I work very hard as I depend on Christ's mighty power that works within me." —Colossians 1:28,29 NLT

The foundation of Christian Discipleship is the ministry of Christ Himself. He committed the future of His earthly ministry to the eleven disciples whom He was sending into the World. In John's gospel, chapter 17, He says "As You sent me into the world, so have I sent them into the world."(verse. 18) Later He would tell the disciples to go and as they were "going" they were to "make disciples". Thus, it would seem that this is not optional. God through Jesus Christ has commanded those who have believed in Jesus, to "make disciples." This is what this ministry is all about, doing this. Our charter is to "Make Disciples"! I personally, consider this my mission statement. My vision statement is strongly related to this. It is from Paul's letter to the Colossians, Chapter 1, verse 28: "Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ." Again this seems mandated.
What is your desire as you seek to do God's will. Maybe you want something more that just to meet somewhere regularly but produce little or nothing from you life. God is looking for people who will follow Christ (Luke 9:23), individuals who will be reproductive rather than just productive. He wants those through whom He can live out the life of Jesus(Gal.4:19). You can chose to make your life different, to grow, produce, leave a legacy of disciplemakers in your path.
