Charles Powell is a professional and personal coach. As a coach, he has adopted as his motto the following statement:

Coaching is essentially a partnership between the coach and his client(s), where the coach endeavors to move the client in the direction of his or her goals. As a coach I help you achieve your goals and to be free from those things which limit this achievement. I believe that a series of small decisions can change your lives and give you what you want most. I will help you discover what track you are on, point out where you can change and support you in the change. Coaching helps your business by helping the people who run it, you. Coaching is one of the most cost-effective ways to develop people in business. My clients hire me for a number of reasons, usually because something has broken down in their life. I help them resolve this and move on, not put them back where they were before. The question that is always present is “How can I do better?” Coaching works to answer this question.
In coaching you, we look into three main areas:
1. Goals: focusing on what you want and how to achieve it.
2. Values: knowing what is important to you and living your values in achieving your goals.
3. Beliefs: challenging limiting beliefs by giving tasks that provide feedback.
While coaching is similar in some ways to counseling, therapy, training, teaching, consulting and mentoring, it differs in several significant ways. Coaching is creative, focuses on the present and future and recognizes that understanding comes through taking action.
My personal qualifications; Master Certified Coach certification through the International Coach Federation. Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Colorado State University, and post graduate training at Western Seminary in personal communication. I belong to the following professional organizations: East Portland Chamber of Commerce, International Coach Federation, International Association of Coaches, American Mensa, American Legion, and Christian Coaches Network.
I have experience and training in small group leadership and group dynamics, conference and workshop direction, and leading. I am an experienced public speaker, personal instructor and trainer, and have experience and assets to do personal assessments. Coaching is about helping people be happy.
