Ten Tips for Networking:
1. Realize that the networking is about relationships.
2. Meet everybody once and again and again....
3. Give out your business card, to everyone, twice. Set a goal, say of six a day, which works out to 2000 a year.
4. Find out what color their eyes are, it forces you to look them in their eyes.
5. Give them your card, tell them who you are and what you do. Then talk to them about them.
6. Give them your card and ask them to call you, everytime.
7. If they say that they have your card, give them another and ask them to pass it on.
8. Remember, it is not about you but about them.
9. Send them a note, as soon as possible. A week is too long. Call them, write them, email them but get back to them.
10. Give them something, refere them, talk about them.
It will come back in spades.
